Star Island Resort-Kissimmee Fl (4/14/00)

Our first timeshare stay was at the Star Island Resort in Kissimmee Fl. in April 2000. During this visit we enjoyed visiting several other timeshare resorts in the area to determine if we would like to stay at any of them in the future.

Silver Lake-Kissimmee, FL (3/03/02)

In March 2002 we traveled to Florida for a month stay in four different timeshares. The first week was spent and the Silver Lake Resort which is near a back entrance to Disney. We stayed in a small one bedroom unit which was smaller than we expected. We enjoyed the pool and several on-site movies.

Westgate Vacation Villas-Kissimmee, FL (3/09/02)

On March 9, 2002 we moved a few blocks south to the Westgate Vacation Villas for a week stay. Our unit was clean and well equipped with a nice view of the paddle boat pond. This is a large resort with several pools.

The on-site activities were somewhat limited which was no surprise because of it's location near Disney World. We enjoyed the daily breakfast privided by the resort, daily walks and several paddle boat rides as well as the area attractions.

Fairfield Cypress Palms-Kissimmee FL. (3/16/02)

On March 16, 2002 we headed about 5 miles west of highway 192 to the Fairfield Cypress Palms resort. This resort has two pools, and a nice activity building and exercise room. The units are nice size and well equipped. Parking is limited late in the evening. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. During this week we enjoyed a trip to Sea World.

Fairfield Ocean Walk-Daytona Beach, FL (3/20/02)

On March 20, 2002 we headed east on I4 from Orlando to Daytona Beach FL for a two night stay at the Fairfield Ocean Walk Resort. Our son and some of his college friends had spent the first part of the week at the resort enjoying spring break. This new resort is located right on the beach near the pier. The beach at Daytona is nice and hard which makes it great for walking. Some sections of the beach are also open for car traffic. The lazy river between the resort and beach is very popular.

The furnishings in the unit were Florida art deco which was not our taste in furniture.

Westgate Vacation Villas-Kissimmee, FL (2/16/03)

 
After enjoying a great cruise we spent 3 weeks at the Westgate Vacation Villas in Kissimmee Fl. This is a large resort with lots to do both at the resort and surrounding area. It is located very near Disney World. Marlene's parents came to visit while we were there. On Feb. 21 we received the phone call we had been waiting for informing us that our first grandchild was on the way. We headed for home the next morning to welcome Sierra Noel to our family.

Orange Lake Resort-Kissimmee, FL (Jan-Mar 04)

On Jan 3, 2004 we arrived at the Orange Lake Country Club Resort for a three month stay. Orange Lake is a very large golf resort which covers over 1000 acres with 54 holes of golf. We spent most of our weeks in a nice single story golf villa. These are large 2 bedroom units with nice views of the golf course. We attended a welcome party the first Sunday evening and met a great couple from Illinois, Darrell and Carolyn, who have become very good friends. We spend lots of time with them playing cards, walking and enjoying the area. We also enjoyed a 2 week visit from our next door neighbors Casey and Esther.

We enjoyed worshiping at the Community Presbyterian Church in Celebration where Ron volunteered in the church office and Marlene joined a women's bible study group.

Our first winter in Florida was a great experience with beautiful weather and making some great friends.

Fairfield Ocean Walk-Daytona Beach, FL (1/16/04)

We traveled from Kissimmee to Daytona Beach for a one week visit at the Fairfield Ocean Walk resort. This was our second visit to this resort. This time we stayed on the new North Tower which was under construction during our first visit. We enjoy walking the beach at Daytona because the sand is hard and easy to walk on. We also enjoyed several of the resorts activities which included bingo, putt putt, and pool tournaments.

Fairfield Ocean Walk-Daytona Beach, FL (1/02/05)

On 1/02/05 we started a 5 week stay at the beautiful Fairfield Ocean Walk Resort in Daytona Beach, Fl. We were fortunate enough to have a 2 bedroom ocean front unit during the entire visit. Marlene parents joined us in mid January. During our visit we enjoyed daily walks on the beach, resort activities, lots of card playing, and great seafood. We also enjoyed making friends with other couples who were spending several weeks at the resort.

Sheraton Vistana - Orlando, FL (2/06/05)

On 2/06/05 we moved for Daytona to the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando for a 5 week stay. Marlene's parents continued to stay with us and on 2/06 our daughter Vicki and her family arrived for a 1 week stay. We enjoyed lots of great family time with 3 generations as well as celebrating our granddaughter Sierra's 2nd birthday.  Click here for a tour of the resort.

After Vicki's family and Marlene's parents returned home we enjoyed a visit from Ron's sister Mary and her husband Bernie who live in Texas and brother Larry and his wife Karen who live in Delaware.

During their visit we enjoyed the Disney sights and showing the family the "Give Kids the World" village where we volunteer. 

 

Vacation Village at Parkway - Orlando, FL (3/12/05)

We spent our final winter week in Florida at the Vacation Village at Parkway resort. Our winter was great with beautiful weather, visits from family and friends and the opportunity to volunteer at Give Kids the World.
