On 10/02 (Marlene's birthday) we headed north and then west around the 2nd half of the Northern Cascades loop to the Worldmark Resort at Birch Bay in Birch Bay WA.
The first part of the drive followed the Columbia River north before heading west into the Methow Valley. The Methow Valley is dry ranch country where we enjoyed the town of Winthrop which had an old west look.
As we continued west we gained elevation toward Washington Pass. As you can see in the photo's below we enjoyed some snow going over Washington Pass.
