Disney Alaska Cruise (9/03/12)

On 9/03/12 we departed the Port of Seattle for a 7 day Disney cruise to Alaska with friends (5 other couples). Video

On day 2 we enjoyed exploring the beautiful Tracy Arm Fjord.

On Day 3 we stopped at Skagway which is a town of about 950 full time residents.  Back in the gold rush of 1896 Skagway was a much larger/wilder community as prospectors headed up the White Pass to the Klondike region of Canada's Yukon Territory.
 
 
We enjoyed the "Yukon Expedition" tour which included a beautiful bus ride up the White Pass to the Yukon Territory. Click here to see a video of the tour highlights.

Carcross Desert, located outside Carcross, Yukon, Canada is often considered the smallest desert in the world measures approximately 1 square mile or 640 acres.

We spent a few minutes at Carcross, Yukon population 436.
 


 

 

 
 
In Fraser, British Columbia be boarded the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad for a beautiful ride back to Skagway.

Back to the ship after a great day of sight seeing.
 
 
Day 4 brought us to Juneau the Capital City of Alaska.
 


 
We started our day in Juneau with a Whale Watching tour which gave us the opportunity to see several humpback whales as well and seals, sea lions, and bald eagles.

We also enjoyed a nice visit to the Mendenhall Glacier.
 
 

 


 
Back at the ship we enjoyed a fun pirates party at dinner.

We started our day at Ketchikan with a Floatplane ride to beautiful Misty Fjords. Video
 




 
 

 
 
 
 
 
After we returned from the floatplane tour we enjoyed checking out the famous Creek Street walk.
