In September we returned to the Lake of the Ozarks for a second visit of the summer. We stayed at the Lakewood Resort where we had enjoyed a visit last year. We enjoyed the lake, great resort staff and the beautiful scenery in the area. The most memorable event during the week was watching TV during breakfast and receiving the news flash the the World Trade Center had been attacked. We saw the second tower hit on live TV. I remember attending the resort potluck that evening and visiting with the other guests all of wondering what lay ahead. The local officials closed the road over the Bagnell Dam (which forms the lake) for a few hours for security purposes. Click here to view a video of the resort.
